Hi there,

I’ve created a Zap that’s supposed to find an existing file in one folder on Google Drive, and replace its copy in another location (another Google Drive folder). I’ve been using the Update File in Google Drive method, and it seems to only work intermittently. On occasion, it will work as expected: I’ll create or update a file, and the trigger will cause the Zap to test properly. Most of the time, though, I get a message saying, “Create a new updated file in your  Google Drive account_name_here@gmail.com] account and test your trigger again.”

Any suggestions on how to get the trigger working?

Hi @Khara

Can you describe what type of file and the update you are making to the file that you are hoping will trigger the Zap?

It’s just a Google Docs (Word) file that I’ve made edits to. Zapier doesn’t seem to be recognizing the changes for some reason though, even if I direct to the right drive and folder.

@Khara

You may have to open a ticket with Zapier Support for clarification about what type of file updates would trigger the Zap: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Hello both of you.

I’d love to have a clarification on what type of file updates would trigger the Zap.

Does any one know ?

I didn’t any info on the trigger itself

@Khara

Note the GDrive Updated File trigger is NOT instant.

It may take from 1-15 minutes to trigger depending on your Zap plan.
