Hi,

So I have Zap that takes appointment data from Acuity, and puts into Google Sheet. It then does something with a formula. All good.

Another zap, when a new row is created in the Google Sheet sends the data to PDFFiller which puts the data into the PDF. All good.

Another zap, when a new PDF is created, downloads the PDF and is meant to use the fields in the PDF to merge and send a gmail. No good. Both in the test and reality the PDF downloads with the fields correctly in from the google sheet, but Zapier can’t read them - they’re blank.

Any clever ideas?

Hi @LetsFly

Perhaps you can provide screenshots of the issue to help us better visualize the fields involved and the issue you’ve described.

Thank you! Does this help?

Hi @LetsFly

Check your Zap Runs history for the DATA OUT from the Step 1 trigger (pdffiller): https://zapier.com/app/history/

If those data points have blank values, then the issue likely is with some setting in pdffiller rather than the Zap.

Thanks - but the PDF itself has the fields filled in from the Google Sheet… and downloads correctly. Just doesn’t pull back through.

Is there a better way to achieve what I’m trying to do?

@LetsFly

FYI: Most Zap app integrations are maintained by the app developer, rather than Zapier.

Make sure to check the settings on the pdffiller side and for the pdffiller template.

pdffiller doesn’t have any Help articles on their Zap app profile page to reference unfortunately.

Just because you can populate the data into a pdffiller template, doesn’t guarantee that it can be retrieved via the pdffiller Zap trigger step.
