How do I connect Brilliant Directories website to Mailchimp?

I’m trying to go through the process of connecting my Brilliant Directories website to Mailchimp, but I’m confused. For example, when I get to the part in the setup process where it says “Get New User By Field,” I have no idea what “Field to Search Value” is. It would be helpful to get a step-by-step explanation of the process, if possible.

Hi there @cceventscalendar,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

Just to ensure that I understand what you're trying to accomplish, could you elaborate a little? What is your end goal with this Zap? Would you be able to outline it step-by-step?

If you can phrase it in the “When A happens in Service X, B should happen in Service Y” format, that’ll help me make sure I give you the best suggestion possible, so thank you in advance!

I want to ensure we're on the same page so I can point you in the right direction!

I'll be keeping an eye out for your response!

Thanks for the reply and clarification. Basically, when visitors to my Brilliant Directories website register a profile and/or subscribe to our newsletter, they should be added to my Mailchimp account.

Hi @cceventscalendar

Check the fields descriptions for guidance.

If you have Field to Search: first_name

Then Field to Search Value: this would be the value to search for in the first_name field. (e.g. Joe)

If you want the Zap to run for all new Users, then you will likely need to have a field that has a common value for all users.

 Hi @cceventscalendar 👋

Not sure if you’ve solved this already? But, going by the Brilliant Directories How to Use Zapier Triggers with the API guide here, I’d suggest changing the first_name field that’s been selected as it’s too unique:

As Troy mentioned you’d want to use something that has a common value for all users, like the “active” field shown in the screenshot above.

Please keep us updated on how you’re getting on with this, keen to ensure you’re all set! 🙂
