How can I migrate WooCommerce to Shopify by bypassing the complex ERP integration?

We want to migrate from WooCommerce to Shopify but due to a complex ERP integration (Dynamics Navision 2009) the process is getting delayed.

I am not sure if Zapier can fix the problem by connecting both platforms; Shopify (to act as a frontend) and WooCommerce (to act as a middleware).

Simply, the paid orders with customer and product data will be pushed as an order to WooCommerce which will push it to the ERP. And updated stock levels and order status to be pushed back from WooCommerce to Shopify. Also, new product data to be pushed to Woo from Shopify.

Please let me know if this is feasible. Any suggestions are welcome!

Hi @MCN

Good question.

You can review the available Zap triggers/actions for each app:

Thanks Troy! Very helpful, from your experience with Zapier the connection will be stable at all times? I don’t want to end up with a pile of orders sitting on Shopify and we have to enter data manually in woo.

With tech there will be possible points of failure.

Taking your example:

  1. Shopify could have issues
  2. WooCommerce could have issues
  3. Zapier could have issues
  4. Underlying internet infrastructure could have issues that these apps are built on (e.g. Amazon AWS)
  5. A human could intervene and break the Zap

Hi @MCN!

You can check out to see the reliability of the different parts of Zapier.

The Shopify New Order trigger is a polling trigger, which means that Zapier periodically checks for New Orders in Shopify. That means that if there is an issue with Zapier, in most cases when things are up and running again, Zapier will find any new orders that have come in since it last successfully checked. You can learn more about the different trigger types in this help guide: Types of triggers in Zaps

I hope that helps, please let us know if you have any questions!
