Question

How do I prevent my own email from triggering a Zap and using up tasks when labeling in Gmail?

Hi, I was looking at my tasks being used up for my zap. We send peoples email to our mailchimp when we label them in gmail.  I didnt realize that if I respond to a persons email with my own email address, it uses it as a task every single time and tries to add it with the zap because its a part of the labeled gmail.... I only want to send the other persons email to our mailchimp and not my own.. I hope this makes sense. How can i stop my own personal email from rezapping into mailchimp and using up tasks over and over.

Hi @Inflatabledudes

Good question.

Try adding a Filter as step 2: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

How do I create the filter to not trigger when my specific email address responds. I see the option to create a filter for “from:email” formats but how do i put it specifically about my email

@Inflatabledudes

Can you post screenshots with how your Zap trigger step for Gmail is configured?

@Inflatabledudes

Add a Filter as Step 2 to check if the From Email is NOT your email.

Is this correct? If I dont want it to add my email anytime I reply to an email address that WAS added to my subscriber list.

@Inflatabledudes

Looks to be configured correctly.

When in doubt, test it out.

Thanks! Will do
