Typeform email field not mapping to Outlook in Zapier


I have created a Zap that sends an Outlook email when a new Typeform entry is created. I have a required field in the Typeform that collects the email, which is mapped to Hubspot.

At first it worked, but now when I submit a new entry through Typeform, I get an email with this error:

Required field "To Email(s)" (recipients) is missing.

 

When I go into the Zap and test it, it sends a test, no problem, but I don’t get an email when creating a new entry through Typeform, just this error email from Zapier.

Since we didn’t hear back here, I wanted to share the suggestion from our Support Team that helped to resolve things for djewell, in case anyone comes across this thread with similar issues in future:

“I've taken a look at the latest errored Zap run and it seems like the field name that returns the email is different from the field mapped in the editor. Is it possible that the field names in the form were changed recently, or perhaps some new fields (questions were added) or re-arranged? (Screenshot).

I pulled a new sample record from the Typeform trigger, and the fields seem to be a little different from the sample pulled in December. In this case, please select the new sample in the trigger (Screenshot), then re-map the new fields values into the Outlook step and publish it to apply the changes live.

The Publish button is at the top-right of the editor. Ideally, this should solve the issue.”

The error in your Zap's Outlook action step likely stems from the "To Email(s)" field not receiving correct data from Typeform. Troubleshoot by ensuring Typeform's email field is required and properly collecting data, verifying the "To Email(s)" field is correctly mapped in the Zap, testing Typeform submissions to confirm email data is received, and checking HubSpot mapping for proper syncing. If the issue persists, provide more details about your Zap's setup, omitting sensitive information.
