Question

Troubleshooting Trello - Error while hydrating data from Trello: Process exited before completing request.

Hi!

We're experiencing a recurring issue with our Trello integration, where approximately 50% of executions fail with the following error:

"Error while hydrating data from Trello: Process exited before completing request."

Previously, a Zapier support team member mentioned that this issue can be related to attachments on Trello cards. However, this is a major disruption to our workflow, as we rely on attachments, and this error completely breaks our automation.

Additionally, our automations were working perfectly fine for the last six months without any issues. It seems that this problem started occurring after a recent update to the Trello integration in Zapier – can you confirm if that might be the cause?

Is this a known bug? Is there any workaround or fix available? We need a reliable solution as soon as possible.

Hi @swch,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

It looks like you’ve reached out to our Support Team about this and they replied today with a suggestion. I’ll share details of the suggestion here in case it’s helpful:

I understand that you are having trouble with your Trello trigger sometimes returning a hydration error.

Previously, a Zapier support team member mentioned that this issue is related to attachments on Trello cards. However, this is a major disruption to our workflow, as we rely on attachments, and this error completely breaks our automation.

Additionally, our Zaps have been working flawlessly for the last six months, and this issue only started occurring recently. We suspect that a recent update to the Trello integration in Zapier might have caused this problem. Can you confirm if that could be the case?

Yes, you are correct and this is likely the cause of the Zaps to fail. The File Attachments field only accepts file objects, so if you have URL's in there instead, the trigger will not work correctly because it cannot process URL's for this field.

The only workaround at this time is to move the URL's to a different location and only allow attached files to the attachments field.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you here!

If you’ve got any questions regarding their suggestion it would be best to continue the conversation with them over email. If you can’t locate their reply I’d recommend searching your spam/junk folder or searching your inbox for any emails from zapier.com in case. Sometimes their emails can end up in the spam/junk folder by accident.

Hi,

I've checked my Zaps and unfortunately, the problem is not related to attachments being inserted in the wrong places. I can see that URL attachments are in the URL attachments section and file attachments are in the file attachments section in Trello trigger.

I believe the Zapier → Trello integration still has a bug. I am experiencing the same issues as the user "workhardplayhard" mentioned in this forum post:
https://community.zapier.com/troubleshooting-99/troubleshooting-trello-and-google-sheets-integration-errors-in-zapier-46812.

As I mentioned before, everything worked fine for at least six months, but toward the end of 2024, things started to get worse.
