How can I fix a broken Pendo to Google Sheets Zap?

I have a Zap set up that is Pendo → Google Sheets → Slack. It was working fine until the tab (sheet within overall Google sheet) that the Zap was feeding in the Google Sheet was renamed. We’ve reverted the tab name, but data is not populating. How can I restore the connection and ensure all data populates?

Thanks for confirming that, @learning-to-zap. I’m so sorry to hear that it’s still not working. As you’re using that Visitor in Report trigger, it’s likely that you’re running into that bug I mentioned. I can’t provide an ETA on when it will be fixed, but I’ve added you to the list of people running into that issue. This helps increase its priority and ensures we can notify you as soon as the Pendo app developers roll out a fix.

As a workaround, is it possible to get an email notifications from them when a new visitor appears in a report—or a weekly report email perhaps? If so, you might be able to use an app like Email Parser as the trigger for your Zap instead. It could trigger on those email notifications and then run the necessary actions to add the details to Google Sheets and Slack. If that sounds like it could work, you can learn more about using Email Parser here: Trigger Zaps from new parsed emails.

Hope that helps for now. Let me know if you need anything else in the meantime! 🙂

Hi @learning-to-zap

Edit your Zap and try these:

  • refresh the Zap step
  • refresh the Zap step fields
  • reselect the desired field options
  • republish your Zap
  • if that does not work, then try duplicating the Zap

Thanks @Troy Tessalone . I refreshed the sheet and data came through again, but it has been coming in with holes: some fields have been missing for some responses (the Pendo Guide is a Survey) but complete for others. All the data is complete in Pendo. Any further advice? I’d prefer not to duplicate the Zap as I don’t know if that would create duplicates in the Sheet data.

@learning-to-zap

Check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you trace and troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

If you think the issue is with the Pendo step, then you can try working with Pendo Support for help with their Zap app integration.

If you are considering hiring help, there is a directory of Certified Zapier Experts: https://zapier.com/experts

Otherwise, you would need to post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible, and outline a specific example for us to have more context.

Hi there, @learning-to-zap! 👋

Were you able to get this sorted? If so, would you be up for sharing some details on what the solution was? This would be super helpful to others in the Community that might be running into similar issues. 🙏

If not, are you using the Visitor in Report (Pendo) trigger? Asking as I did some checking and spotted there’s a bug report for an issue where the Visitor in Report trigger doesn't trigger for every visitor that matches the segment in the selected report. Please confirm whether you’re using that trigger so I can get you added to the list of folks being impacted by that issue.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi @SamB . No, I was never able to repair the problem. Yes, I was using the Visitor in Report Pendo Trigger.
