Troubleshooting halted exception error when posting from Telegram to Twitter/X using Zapier

I have a zap that automates posting from my Telegram channels to their corresponding Twitter/X accounts, via Google Sheets and Buffer.

It was working fine until yesterday, and nothing has changed my end, but now I’m getting the following error message:

“Halted Exception: The selected file (#1) cannot be reached by us - you need to provide a direct link to the file”

The way the zap works (until yesterday) is this:

I post on one of my three Telegram channels (text + video). A bot (running 24/7 on my VPS) scans the channels, and when a new post appears, it creates a new Google Sheets row, containing the channel acronym, post text, a URL to the video file (also on my VPS), and status (pending or posted).

The zap gets triggered by the new Google Sheets row, and if the status is ‘pending’, it continues to the next step, which branches off into three identical paths depending on the channel name (one for each channel).

The spreadsheet data (text and video URL) then gets sent to Buffer, which posts the text and video on the corresponding Twitter/X account.

The Google Sheets row then has its status updated to ‘posted’.

Like I said, everything was working perfectly until yesterday, and now, for some reason, the zaps are getting halted. I have no idea why.

Please help!

Hi and welcome to the Community, @JohnDoe80! 🎉

How very strange! Are there any differences between the files that worked and the ones that didn’t? For example, are they a different file type, stored in a different folder, different app, or do they have a much larger file size?

Also, are all the files that error definitely publicly-accessible—meaning a log in isn’t required to access them? See Send files in Zaps for more details on working with files in Zaps.

Looking forward to hearing from you on this!
