Question

How to send an email using Zapier with Airtable user emails

I made an Airtable collecting user emails (second image) and want zapier to send an email to the user but the user email is not showing up as an option under “Configure”, only “ID” and ‘Created Time” are showing up.

This could be caused by one of a few different issues:

  1. Sometimes Zapier truncates the fields it shows in the dialog. Start typing Email in the search field to see if that pulls up the correct field to map
  2. You may need to reload your test data, or create a new row in Airtable. If the Airtable trigger you are using is New Record, then Zapier may pull the data before you’ve completely filled out the row, and will not find the email address. Try adding a new record to Airtable with the email field already populated, or use the New or Updated Record trigger instead for this.

If you end up using the New or Updated Record trigger, you can add a field to Airtable with a checkbox and call it something like Ready. Then, add a filter as your second step in Zapier for Ready to be set to the boolean value of True. Then, your Zap will only process for records that you’ve checked, so you can get all data you need entered before it processes.

Let me know if you need more help troubleshooting!

Hi @MahamM

Here’s a different approach…

Use Airtable Automations, which has a native integration with Gmail.
