Unable to pull new customer email fields in Mailchimp

I have an automation set up in MailChimp for new customers to be sent through a Welcome series that I have to manually import new contacts to every week to keep the flow moving until I found Zapier can connect the two. I have set up the trigger (new customer created) but even after the tests it is pulling all new customer info except for their email. How do I get it to pull the email field and what steps come after that to make the automation work? My understanding is it has something to do with "configure."

Hi @wilsoncomp, welcome to the Community! 🎉

I did some checking and the ServiceTitan New Customer trigger doesn’t currently output the email address for a new contact. We do have an existing feature request open for the email addresses (and phone number) to be returned so I’ve added your vote for that. While we can’t say for sure if or when this will be implemented, you’ll be among the first to know via email if it is!

The Search Customers action doesn’t return the customer email address either (also covered by that feature request) so you might need to use a Custom Action to get around this in the meantime. With custom actions you can create an action that uses ServiceTitan’s Customers_Get endpoint to see if that provides the email address. I had a look at their documentation for that endpoint and couldn’t see email address specifically mentioned but may still be worth trying in case it does come through. It’s a bit more advanced but the custom actions have an AI-powered Copilot that you can use to generate the action—you can learn more about it here: Create a custom action.

If you give that a try and run into any issues just let us know, happy to assist if you get stuck at all. 🙂

Hi @wilsoncomp

For us to have more info, post these screenshots:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible
  • the data returned in Zap Step 1 from the TEST tab for an example record
