Question

Unable to update Opportunity in Capsule CRM originally created by Zapier.

Forum|alt.badge.img

Thanks to @Troy Tessalone i managed to resolve the issues I had with creating a Capsule CRM opportunity when a Quoteint Quote is sent.

Now the next stage of resolving the ‘Accepted’ Quote in Quotient as ‘Won’ in Capsule.

The error i’m experiencing is the inability for the opportunity to be Found, which I can’t understand because the original Opportunity was sent to Capsule via Zappier. If you look in Capsule directly, I can see that Zappier created the original opportunity, but for whatever reason it cannot find it again to update the opportunity status to ‘Won’.

Any assistance is welcome.

Thanks in advance.

@RobbieMateria

For us to have more info, we would need to see screenshots with how Zap step 4 is configured in EDIT mode so we can see the field mappings.

@RobbieMateria

Zap step 4 appears to be configured correctly to update the Opportunity based on the mapped ID variable.

Check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA OUT from Step 3 and the DATA IN for Step 4.

Ok, so after the initial Opportunity is created in Capsule, we then need to map the opportunityId in Capsule with ID in Quotient, that way when the Opportunity is Won and this Zap run’s it can pull in the opportunityId / ID.

How can I do that when there is no potion ini the Quotient App to update the ID field?

@RobbieMateria

In your Zap Runs history, check the DATA OUT from step 1 to see what data points are returned.

ID should be populated.

Post screenshots to give us context.

@RobbieMateria

Try using this variable: Quote Number

You may need to use custom pill mapping:

Ohh, that sounds complicated.

So I have 2 Zaps going…

  1. Create Opportunity
  2. Won Opportunity

In the 2. Won Opportunity Zap, I created a “Find Opportunity” step using the ID Name. which is assigned during 1. Create Opportunity Zap. This seems to have worked. I’ll wait for some opps to be won and see how we go.

So it what step and which zap

  1. Create Opportunity
  2. Won Opportunity

do I add the custom pill mapping: ? Also, on the help page, the link in the example page zap doesn’t work. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @RobbieMateria,

In order to add custom pill mapping in Zapier, you typically do this in the "action" step of your Zap. This is where you specify what you want to happen when your trigger event occurs.
In your case, if you want to create or update an opportunity based on the information received, you would add the custom pill mapping in the "Create Opportunity" or "Won Opportunity" action, depending on your goal.
