Question

Reason for Notion step error - The app returned "Unsaved transactions: no more connections allowed (max_client_conn)".

Dear community,

I set up a simple Zap that creates a new database entry in Notion for completed Todoist tasks which was working fine. Now I got this error message - could you please help me understand it?

The app returned "Unsaved transactions: no more connections allowed (max_client_conn)".

Many thanks in advance for your help!

I’m running into this issue in Make too with Notion. Never Came across it before. Maybe it’s a new bug that has appeared.

Hi @questions1211 and @Jeff123,

Have you tried replaying the errored Zap run? This might be a temporary issue with Notion. Here’s how to replay errored runs: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496241726989-Replay-failed-Zap-runs

Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!

It looks like it is not temporary. We have been having the same problem for a few days now.

It is weird because it returns a 500 error from Notion not a 429

{
  "object": "error",
  "status": 500,
  "code": "internal_server_error",
  "message": "Unsaved transactions: no more connections allowed (max_client_conn)",
  "request_id": "xxxx"
}

Hi @questions1211, @Jeff123 and @guillermo.ubeda! 👋

I did some digging and it looks like it was related to a recent incident on Notion’s end that’s since been resolved: https://status.notion.so/incidents/sq55z5r8ky8b

Can you try replaying any previously errored runs of your Zaps can confirm whether they’re now running as expected?

Looking forward to hearing from you all! 🙂
