Syncing Event Temple Invoices with Xero

Please does anyone work with the event management system EVENT TEMPLE, of which Zapier has integration.
We need to record our invoices which are raised in Event Temple to show in Xero.

However, I have spent hours and hours, and in all the help areas, tried many zaps and cannot find out how to do this. Does anyone have any insight please?

thanks Nuala

Hi @Nuala

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode so we can see the field mappings
  • any encountered Zap step errors while testing

Hi @Nuala,

Welcome to the Community.

If you need help automating between Event Temple and Xero in Zapier, ensure that both apps are available for the specific trigger and action events you need. Check that the data fields in Event Temple and Xero align properly, and manually add any missing fields if required. Kindly post a screenshot of your Zap with the error message so we can troubleshoot the issue further. Also, make sure to obscure any sensitive information for security purposes. Thank you.

Hi

Thank you.

Event Temple to Xero - to show in Xero every time a payment comes through. Error:

The app returned: Post data invalid exception.
Screen shots below - sorry they have not come through in order I put them in.

The help section showed example that date or contact name is not in correct format, but I’ve taken from the suggestive list and not changed the format. Any help appreciated. We are a small charity who cannot afford to pay an Expert. Many thanks Nuala

Hi @Nuala,

Thanks for the screenshots.

I noticed an issue in your setup regarding the "Contact" field in the Xero step. The "Contact" field requires the Contact ID from Xero. To fetch and map the Contact ID as a custom value in the "Contact" field, please click the "+Add search step" button.

Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!

Hi

We’ve had a call with Xero, and I’ll have a call with new development team at Event Temple (ET) next week.

I’ve heard direct from ET that there is limited flexibility with what can be done with their system and xero but they want to know more.

Recap:
1. We have ET invoice, customer pays via Stripe that gets sent to Xero. (no contact name in xero until the payment comes in)
2. Xero imports a report from ET of paid invoices to try and cross match against payments come in via stripe. Unfortunately there is no option on the import report for ‘invoice number’
So we have a manual process each month of trying to match stripe import & xero import.

Will keep you updated on what I manage to find out, that may be useful for others; likewise any further tips welcomed.

Thank you so much for reaching out.

best

Nuala
