Attachment security in Zapier email parser

Hi, I'm setting up a zap with the zapier email parser to get emails into workflowy. This works, but I'm slightly puzzled about the way attachments are handled. The attachment I sent in my test email shows up as a link to a zapier URL. Clicking the link immediately downloads the attachment. Copying the link to an incognito browser tab, I had expected to first have to log in before being able to view the attachment. But no, again I could immediately access the attachment without logging in. That prompts the following questions:

  1. Does this mean that all attachments I send through the Zapier email parser are parked out there on the internet for everyone to read? And is that true for the other email contents as well?
  2. Can I set it up to park the attachment inside workflowy, so that I can access it from workflowy (and only after logging in) instead of through a zapier URL?

Hi @Jeroentje

Those are temp files, which expire after a period of time, either 1 hour or 1 day.

Thanks for the reply but I can still access them 6 days later. And in fact I want them to be still accessible until I’ve completed the task (otherwise what’s the use of sending an attachment at all), but I don’t want them to be accessible to anyone, they should be accessible only to me after I log in.

Hi @Jeroentje,

Sending files in Zapier requires to be publicly accessible for the Zap to be able to send the file. You can learn more about that here: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496288813453-Send-files-in-Zaps

Hopefully, this helps.
