Question

How do I update Asana records from Azure DevOps changes to ensure valid task ID linkage and manage multi-records?

I am new to Zapier and am playing with the integration of Asana to Azure Devops using Zapier as the intermediate step.

I have a zap set-up to create a new Asana record when I create an epic in Azure Devops. I have tried to create a second zap that will then update the Epic record when anything changes in Azure Devops but am strugglging to find the right actions.

During the Update Task in Asana it asks for a Task ID

But not clear what you use here to ensure the link is valid.

Alternatively, I tried to select “Add search step” which adds “Find Task in Project (Legacy) in Asana” but it is confusing which “Task Name” field I need to select to make it work bearing in mind I will have hundreds of records.

Any advice on the right steps to take?

Hi @DavidCory

For Zap action: Asana - Update Task, it expects the Asana Task ID to update.

If you need to find the Asana Task ID, you can use the Zap action: Asana - Find Task

Search by the name of the Asana Task.
