Issue formatting email drafts in Gmail from Airtable via Zapier

Apologies in advance if I’m missing something obvious.

I’m trying to use Airtable to populate outbound contact email drafts in gmail.

Each zap is new email draft to be checked and sent manually.

I’ve tried many combinations of plain text, HTML and other functions but can’t get the text to format basic things like new lines, hyperlinks and bold. I’ve tried using HTML tags, formatting in Airtable and other things I can remember.

I thought it would just be Body Type selected as HTML, then tags away! Still a blob of text.

@Chorters

You can ask ChatGPT to draft the HTML for you.

EXAMPLE

Hi @Chorters

For us to have context, we would need to see screenshots with how your Zap step is configured in EDIT mode.

It’s a pretty simple email. One tag that’s a link.

I just don’t want to have to do this 80+ times in Gmail.

@Chorters

The full Body field content would need to have HTML tags.

e.g. <br> for a line break

Tried that, had it all tagged but kept coming through with tags removed.

I’d taken them out thinking they were useless, but I get the same results either way.

@Chorters

NOTE: The correct link tag is href instead of hrefs
