Question

How do I track Slack channels named "bug-*" and update a Google Sheets?

Hi guys, I appreciate your help here.

I’m trying to track type of slack channels that start with the word ‘bug’ - we use these type of slack channel to report severe bugs in the system. They will always start with the word ‘bug’. I only need to work with these type of Slack channels

What I need in particularly is to either automatically fill in a row of a specific column in a google spreadsheet we use every time a channel with the word ‘bug’ in it is opened in slack, with the slack channel URL or the full name of it
Or another option will be to automatically add a link to the spreadsheet every time a channel opened that starts with the word ‘bug’

Do you have any solution in mind for me?

Thanks a lot!

Yagel

Hi @yagel

Try these Zap steps:

  1. Trigger: Slack - New Channel
  2. Action: Filter
  3. Action: GSheets - Create Row

Appreciate Troy. Also wanted to ask, is there a way to automate inserting the spreadsheet URL to each Slack channel that starts with the word “bug” ?

Thanks a lot!
