Trello card clickable URL instead of ID

Hello and thanks for your help in advance.

I’ve found the way to show the Trello Card ID in further actions (doesn’t really help) but it needs to be a clickable link. Once it gets sent to our employees, they need to be able to click on the link to open the card in Trello. Am I missing something?

The long form “https://zapier.com” shows while editing/testing however when run live, it sounds like this did the trick!

Hi @vanlifecollective

Good question.

Please post screenshots with how your Zap steps are configured and indicate where you are trying to create a clickable link, thanks.

You may have to create a clickable link by combing a static value (base URL) plus the a data point from Trello.

After The Trello card is created, I’d like a clickable links in steps 3, 5 and 12.

I can make the html for a clickable link. The only value I can get is an ID. Can I “inject” the ID into a URL? I’ve tried but it didn’t work. I’m hoping to find something like this…

<a href=”https://trello.com/card?(CARD ID)” target=”_blank”>

I don’t think Trello using the Card ID in their URL. I don’t know.

Thanks for your help!

These are the only data points I can see

How do I find the short link?

@vanlifecollective

Did you manually test the Trello Create Card step?

Did you try scrolling up/down?

Did you try searching to the name of the data point?

Did you try clicking this button?

  1. Yes. COL$M (URL) only displays “https://zapier.com” and doesn't include a link with the card info
  2. Yes. Nothing else.
  3. Clicking the Show all options help find more info but I just need the URL.
  4. This helped but its still not working.

Might be best to open a ticket with Zapier Support for additional help: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Or consider hiring a Zapier Expert: https://zapier.com/experts

Hey @vanlifecollective just checking in here! Were you able to get this sorted out? I didn’t see an open ticket from you in our support queue and really want to make sure this gets resolved for you. Let us know/feel free to open a support ticket and we can continue working through this one!

Thanks for checking back. When editing/testing the Zap it would only show the “https://zapier.com” but when it was run in its entirety, it worked. So we are all good. Thanks!
