I would like to create a zap from an Trigger event update of the Notion database but this does not exist for the Beta version. Is it planned to have this functionality and if so when? The latter is really important to all of your users.
Thanks in advance.

Hey @PBDrivers! Apologies for the late follow-up but you’re totally right - we own this integration! I’ve checked in with our product team and this looks to be pretty high on our list of things to tackle. While I don’t have an ETA to provide, rest assured that as soon as we have an update, we’ll come back to this thread to share it with y’all.
Just to make it transparent for everyone, the work needs to be done on the zapiers side to make more triggers available....

2 months ago and counting...this is a standard feature in Notion’s API and one of the top requested items to be included in Zapier. At this point you can’t convince me that this is a high priority.
Hey friends, apologies for the belated update. We appreciate your patience!
I double checked and it does look like this trigger is available for the Notion app.
Keep us in the loop with any questions you may have!
Thanks. It’s definitely a step in the right direction.
I’m afraid, we need the solution to be a bit more detailed. Let me make an example to illustrate this:
Zapier Job (Use Case) = Send a Mail to “Stakeholder E-Mail” when “Status” is updated, so he knows his Task is now in progress (or done. or whatever).
Note: If the Database Update is anything other than new status, (like “new Assignee”), “Stakeholder E-Mail” must not be contacted.
tl;dr: Just “Database item update” is not specific enough. We need to be able to exactly select *what property* is updated inside a database item.
Add me too please! I don't need to say it again - Zapierr is useless for Notion without this trigger. And an ETA would be only be polite given the demand

Hey guys,
I also want to be added to the list. Appreciate it.
In the meantime I tried to build a “work-around” with a scheduled trigger - a database page search - a filter and the action afterwards. It’s quite a thing to build it this way because you lose all the “speed” of the trigger. So it would really make a difference to have this feature asap.
Hi @Natalia
I apologize, as much as we wanted to give you any information about the feature request. Mostly the information will be coming over to our backend. Rest assured that as soon as this feature request is available. We will notify you via email. I’ve added your vote for this one. Thank you.
Zapier announced a heap of "new features" today, but can't provide any additional information or a simple update regarding this highly requested trigger on an existing integration to an existing Notion API endpoint? To cap it all off, a trigger that was already available previously with no documented issues?
Sorry @jammer.solijon, I'm not convinced community input holds any kind of weight to Zapier's Product Managers because if it did somebody with knowledge of why this integration's triggers were crippled would jump into this thread and shed light. Any other kind of response is less than meaningless, it's insulting to those who commented here.
I noticed that this trigger is now available
Oh wow, very neat! Thanks for coming back to update the thread, @Lee! Full transparency, this app is maintained by Notion’s developers so we’re stoked to see they were able to implement this.
I wonder for these use cases where we need to be more granular if a Filter by Zapier step would work? A very similar workflow came up yesterday and they were using a filter to only trigger on a specific property:
Let us know if you think that could work!
It won’t work in general case. To determine which fields were changed you need to know their values before the update. But Updated Database Item event doesn’t give you the previous values, just the current ones.
For this community’s benefit, I reached out to Thomas Frank on Twitter, and he responded. Apparently it’s even worse - other Notion experts have volunteered to maintain Zapier’s integration with Notion and have been met with silence.
Personally, I’ll be looking at other integration providers as per Thomas’ recommendation to find a solution for this. Waiting on Zapier seems to be an exercise in futility.
Hi @jammer.solijon ,
It has been a year now and the feature still not make it to top priorities..?
How many votes are needed to finally get the thing to the developers? I just found out this feature is not available and actually cannot believe it. For 49$ monthly, this is a little irritating.
Please add my vote and let me know how many more are needed. Thank you
Welcome to the community, @Bruce77!
I appreciate you sharing your candid feedback! I dig some digging and it looks like there’s an open feature request to trigger off an updated database item.
While we don’t have a time frame when this will get implemented, I did get your vote added to that report. This way we’ll send you an email once it’s live. We’ll also be sure to keep this thread updated as soon as we know more.
@christina.d can I get added to that thread / email list as well? We have had to start building out the functionality in Automate.io :(
If so, then that would seem to indicate that Zapier could update the Notion Zap app integration to have more triggers available/supported.
Thanks for reaching out, @Lee! While I’m sorry to hear this, I am glad you were able to find a solution that works for you. In the meantime, I got your vote added to this. We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop if and when this gets implemented!
Add my vote as well + I’d like to have an ETA… It’s been requested for a while now.
All I want is to send email when a property is updated
Thanks for flagging this, @PBDrivers!
Hmm, it looks like the app’s developers may still be working on those triggers then. I’m not seeing them appearing on the latest version of the Notion app either so I expect more work needs to be done before they can be released.
Sorry for any confusion caused here! I can see your vote has already been added to the feature request for an updated database item trigger. I can’t make any promises as to when it will become available but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as it is!
Please include my vote as well. This is a crucial trigger for us. Any updates on ETA would be greatly appreciated as it would help us plan effectively.

This feature is essential for Notion addicted user.
please let me know when this feature is available.
I’ve added your vote for this feature request and we’ll notify you via email once an update is available. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! And you’re right I can imagine that being a common scenario.

Could you add my vote as well and add me to the list of those who should be notified? Thank you!
