What does Zapier even do?

Simply put, without using jargon or marketing speak (hopefully): Zapier enables you to connect the apps you use (to each other) in order to automate tasks that you would otherwise be doing manually, all without having to use code.In other words, when something happens in one of your apps and you need to then add/update data or process information in one or more other apps, Zapier helps you build workflows that will do it for you.One of our company values at Zapier is: Don’t be a Robot, Build the Robot. That’s what you’ll be able to accomplish by using Zapier. How to troubleshoot your Zaps

We try to make Zapier as easy to use as possible but there are times when you’ll run into errors with your Zaps. When you need help with a question about Zapier, it can be difficult to know where to start. This article explains the best way to find answers in the Zapier Community.Search for existing questionsA good place to start is by searching to see if the answer to your question already exists! There are lots of questions and answers in the Community, so you may find the information you need by searching existing posts. There is a search box Community home page, on the right hand side of posts, or you can go straight to the search page. A post in the community showing the search bar at the right side of the pageWhen you type your question, include the names of the app(s) that you’re using, and any error messages that you can see.In the search results, you’ll see that some posts have a question mark next to them and some have a tick. A common question in the community is “Can I use Zapier to…?” People want to know if Zapier can solve their integration or automation needs and don’t know where to start. This article aims to provide a roadmap to help you to answer that question. We’ll start with the basics of what Zapier is and how it works. Then we'll dive into how and where to find the information you need to connect your apps. How does Zapier work?The simplest way to think about Zapier is by using a ‘when/then’ statement. For example: When someone fills in this form, then send them a confirmation email. When I get a new order, then create an invoice in my accounting software. A Zap is a combination of a trigger event and actions to create an automated workflow. The trigger is the ‘when’ part of your statement, it’s what starts the Zap.
