Update on Zap Draft issues

Hi all! 👋 I’m Sabina and a Product Manager here at Zapier. I wanted to give a quick update on an issue with the Drafts feature that has caused a lot of frustration. We’ve had various issues reported where users couldn’t publish their Zaps and the Editor would crash.

 

Last week we found the root cause of why the Editor sometimes hit errors. Most of these issues were the result of a backend check that silently failed to publish a Zap without updating all the necessary system components. The result of this was that the Zap appeared to be published, but in reality it became stuck in limbo and subsequent actions to that Zap would cause the Editor to crash. 

 

We deployed a fix on May 24th and we’re continuously monitoring the issue. Our systems show that there is another issue happening that has similar symptoms but a different separate root cause. We’re currently investigating the issue, and few users are affected by it. 

 

We really appreciate everyone’s feedback and help in troubleshooting the issue! Know that the teams are looking at the issues that you are all surfacing and this is our top priority.

 

If you continue to have trouble with the Drafts feature, please contact the Zapier Support team as they can work with you get to the root of the problem and either offer you a workaround or report the issue to the Product team where we can pick it up and act on it.
