I want to use the RingCentral SMS trigger to send SMS messages to a Slack channel, but the trigger says “(Deprecated)”. What does this mean? Will this trigger no longer be available soon?

Hi @emilytaylorva

Looks like the trigger was split into separate triggers: SMS Sent, SMS Received.

Try updating your Zap trigger to the newer version.

Just wanted to follow up here to confirm that the New SMS trigger was indeed replaced by two separate triggers. The old trigger used to handle both new SMS that sent and received. But now there is a trigger specifically handling the new SMS’s that are sent and another to handle those that are received (New SMS Sent and New SMS Received).

The deprecated New SMS trigger will at some point in the future be removed from by the app’s developers. I don’t have an ETA on when it will be be removed so it would be best to switch any existing Zaps that use it over to the new version of the triggers as soon as possible.

If both sent and received SMS’ still need to trigger the Zap then you’ll need to set up two Zaps - one using the New SMS Sent trigger and the other using the New SMS Received trigger. The quickest way to do this is to make a copy of the Zap and change the trigger event that it’s using.
