Question

Looking for a self-hosted WordPress (not WordPress.com) SMS solution

Hi all.

 

I am a developer for a WordPress site, not WordPress.com, self-hosted WordPress. We have a Twilio account. What we need is to send SMS when a new post is published. It needs to be as automatic as possible, as they are time-sensitive posts. 

 

Once I find an integration, i’ll be eventually need to customize it, in the WordPress end - only send SMS on post of certain post types and / or categories, for one. 

 

Currently we use OneSignal for email and desktop notifications, but we need SMS! OneSignal has some integrations but I bet i can more easily with Twilio and Zapier.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction? The Zapier Wizard led me to WordPress.com, so here I am!
