Google Docs integration with Google Drive

I am trying to use the functionality of Create Document from Template in Google Docs, but I cannot seem to have it find a file outside of my personal Google Drive, and have it link to one that is in a shared google drive. I need it to reference the template in a different drive, and then put the customized file into a fully different shared google drive. Does anyone know how to pull this off?

Hi @AdamC Thanks for your question!

 

If a folder is shared with you (ie it’s not a folder you own that you’ve shared or a Team folder) then you wont be able to use it with Google Drive in Zapier, sorry about that! 

You could create the template in your own folder, then create the doc and change sharing preferences so it’s shared with another person, but you can’t access folders that don’t belong to you.
