Update Shopify Quantity via Email

Hi community!

I’m currently looking for an solution which makes my life easier.

We have listed our products on several marketplaces which don’t have any connection to Shopify. Now we would like to create an order, set the status to pending and update the quantity of selected products when we get a sale over a marketplace.

The emails we get from the marketplace after a sale has be done over there, has always the product size and product SKU in it.

Maybe somebody has already found a great zapier workflow for it?

Thanks

Hmmm. Very interesting @athadi!

The very first thing that comes to mind would be using Filter by Zapier on your e-mail inbox. If you’re using Gmail, it’s possible you could use the “New Email Matching Search” trigger. Either way, you should be able to find common information across these order e-mails that works as a trigger. I’d suggest looking at e-mail domains, subject lines, etc.

Once you’ve done that, you can link the trigger up to an action in Shopify which in this case sounds like one of the new order actions.

Let us know how it goes!

Hi @athadi

Good question.

You’ll likely need to use email parsing to get the desired data points from the body of the email.

Hey folks! Coming in here to summarize some of these awesome suggestions! Jillian offers some great advice for being able to trigger off of specific emails and sent them to other steps within your Zap (like Shopify):

However, if you’re looking to extract data from within the body of those emails, Troy’s suggestions might be a better fit:
