How to use zap_meta_human_now in API Configuration

Hi, I would like to know on how can I get the current time or previous time the trigger was polled by Zapier.. There is “zap_meta_human_now” to get current time.. However, I can use it only as a parameter.. I need the value as a default parameter available in API Configuration Form/Console Mode..

Can the Zap Name be passed in bundle sent with Subscribe

I am upgrading an App from legacy platform to new latest platform. In my original App the name of the Zap was passed in the bundle sent with Subscription. This was used stored in the target application to allow administrators to track and manage subscriptions. The new platform seems to only send the Zap ID. Sending and receiving data

Then why do we need the Perform List option? I can not understand the differences between hook and perform list option.

Meaning of Publishing Errors - Needs Successful Task

Good morning, I’m experiencing some issues on the developer dashboard with the Publishing tasks. I am aware there are some outstanding issues being addressed in that section of the platform but do not believe this to be a duplicate. I have created successful Zaps for my triggers that perform the expected tests in the Zap Creation process as expected. When I return to the publishing tasks and re-run the validation, the validation process doesn’t seem to register my Zap has been created. For instance, I have created a trigger that returns a record set of types of sources. Then, I create a Zap that uses that trigger (get_lead_sources in this case). The Zap functions as expected. When I re-run the validation, I would expect the steps related to a Zap not being created to go away. Instead, I see the following screen:     Thanks in advance for any insights you may be able to provide.

Pass value to resource

Hi, Lets assume that I have a trigger, trigger have a input field: { key: 'table_id', label: 'Table', required: true, dynamic: 'tableList.id.name'} And basically, there is no other field for this trigger, I’m trying to figure out how to pass to the Table resource a value from this trigger, fe: { key: ‘value’ } I’ve tried it like this: (z: ZObject, bundle: Bundle) => bundle.inputData.key = 'value',{ key: 'table_id', label: 'Table', required: true, dynamic: 'tableList.id.name'} but without luck, operation.perform from table resource had empty bundle.inputData. Also tried computed input field does not hide from user, so this is also not an option to pass value like this.   I need help, thanks in advance for any tips.

using the session-auth example's bundle.authData.sessionKey variable in other request's

Hello,    I was wondering how the bundle.authData.sessionKey variable is used in the session-auth example. Within the authentication.js there is the bundle with the fields username and API key to request the sesson key from an API ( getSessionKey() ) , then this variable is able to be used in a subsequent request ( includeSessionKeyHeader() ). how does this seperate bundle (that originally only had the API key and username) update to include the sessionKey? and subsequently how can this sessionKey variable be used in other scripts, like the recipe example, to parse the session key in the header of the request?

Need a Titlecase Label is not going away!

To-dos that must be addressed before your integration can be included in the App Directory: I’m getting a warning to change the Titlecase but when I do, the warning doesn’t go away. I even had just one word in the field - capitalized - and still got the error.

How can I reference variables from Storage in the query my Zapier trigger uses to poll our database?

I have a Zapier integration trigger that calls an endpoint in our API to fetch any contacts that were updated after a specific timestamp.  A sample Zap would look at this list of contacts and add them as subscribers to a Mailchimp audience. The Zap also checks the timestamp on each of these contacts and compares it to the timestamp stored in Zapier storage. If the timestamp is later than the stored value, the Zap updates the stored value to this new latest value. This all works.  However, what I don’t know how to do is reference a variable from Zapier storage in our trigger. We need to pass this variable as a request body parameter in the API call the trigger makes to our database. Please check the attached image to see what the API call looks like.   The variable in storage has the key “last_modified”. It's value is a timestamp formatted as a long. e.g. {“last_modified”: 1594624147 }   Cheers!

Zapier platform (GUI) - unable to fix T004 for triggers

Hi Zapier community! I’m trying to integrate our application into Zapier platform using the UI, and the only remaining publishing tasks pending to fix is related with triggers and related with the errors T004.   The polling URLs work and same response data is populated into the sample data of the “define your output”. But the publishing checks is complaining about the Static sample not matching the task history. Thanks in advance

Zapier Integration - Perform list with dummy data

I’m developing a Zapier integration but I am having some issues with the “perform list” fallback polling endpoint. I understand that the idea is that the user can have data for following steps, without having to actually trigger the event in the app, but I was kind of expecting a different behavior, which I’m not sure if it is attainable. What I had in mind was: The polling endpoint is requested when there is no actual data (no trigger), otherwise simply get the actual data from the trigger. Following that idea, I simply set the polling endpoint to return some dummy data, which should be enough for a user to set following steps (which is the point of the polling thing). However, it is indeed only returning the dummy data and not the actual one sent when it was triggered.   I had this idea because whenever I don’t set the endpoint in the trigger configuration, then Zapier will actually retrieve the real data that was sent when the Zap was triggered.    It seems a bit weird to me

Connection label based on OAuth token data

Hello! I’m trying to implement an integration, and I’m stuck on the Connection label (meaning, it doesn’t show up necessary information).   I’d like to extract data from JWT token I receive from OAuth provider and use it as the Connection label, but I found no documentation on this subject. Is it actually possible?   I think, requesting user additional information, in order to put it into the label, is clumsy, especially when we have params in tokens. Best regards, Alexander Mustafin

Support for XML in visual builder

Looking for help in parsing XML.  I am familiar with the CLI approach but came across the following https://github.com/zapier/zapier-platform/pull/211 which states "...request with XML response: Note that both before and after currently are only possible in CLI apps, but once zapier/zapier#39899 makes the Middleware tab public for all, this can also be used in visual builder apps." Has this been pushed into production?  If so How do I use it?

To publish an integration, you’re required to provide an API Documentation URL. Unfortunately, I don’t find any further information about what you’re expected to provide. Since we’re using REST Hooks, I’m not sure what we’re supposed to do.

Handling custom fields in workflow

We have multi tenant application and each tenant has ability to create their own custom fields based on their business needs. There's no limit on number of fields one tenant can create. So far we have seen few hundreds of custom fields for each tenant. So tenant A can create custom field X1 and tenant B can create custom field Y1. We are trying to figure out how we can plan to build both triggers & actions so that we can effectively involve custom fields in both triggers & actions. So when tenant A uses the zap, his custom fields (more than one) will be involved and similarly for tenant B her custom fields (more than one) gets involved. Each of these tenants when using the zap should be able to map custom fields of our application with other application like we do when we are dealing with normal/system fields. Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

How do I get the test data to work?

Problem I can’t seem to get the test data to work when testing a trigger we’ve created and I’m confused as to how I can dynamically set the sample data.    Background We’ve built a trigger that has a lot of static fields in the sample file. We have the ability to narrow those fields significantly if we could dynamically pull by a parameter. How do I dynamically pull for the sample file? How can I also get the test data trigger to work. Right now it just shows static sample data. We update our database when a zap fires so a request wont work more than once. Im just confused as to how the sample file and the test data should work.

Enabling a user to select a list from their CRM account in a new integration

I am building a Zapier integration for our own CRM application. A user of our CRM can have multiple lists, akin to how a user of Mailchimp can have multiple audiences. We would like to make it possible for a user to view a dropdown of all their lists and select the list they would like to use in the zap. For reference, this is possible as one of the first steps in setting up a Mailchimp zap. What is the recommended way to build step this into our integration? Cheers.

Connected account not updating after consent is given to zapier in integration

In my zapier integration built using zapier’s CLI, after a user connects their account successfully, the zap step does not display the newly connected account until after a user refresh of the page. Other integrations do not have this problem, so I’m wondering if there’s something more we need to do after the request to exchange an authorization code for an access token.
