attempted to select missing sample

  • I am trying to create zap template.
  • I want to send data from excel to my app
  • First I am seeing this sample data alert here https://prnt.sc/goJreHx9VGTB, so I think, in zap templates, we don’t have the facility to set Gmail account like we set while creating zaps.
  • There is not facility to connect with Gmail account so I am not seeing any excel here https://prnt.sc/DZZSsgk2UpgQ
  • Now the problem is, when I try to test the trigger then I get this https://prnt.sc/hIqtxSZaXPSg and not able to proceed further.
  • In action tab, when I try to map columns then I don’t get proper option to select https://prnt.sc/eUJTTQMicelf

May I know how I can solve this problem and see full process of “sending data insert in Excel to my zapier app”

Hi @willing_to_explore 

When building Zapier Templates for your app you are limited to only Sample Data. You will need to skip the test and configure as much of the template as you can with just the sample data provided.

Yes, @GetUWired is quite right - Zap Templates’ action fields never show custom fields from apps, including the Excel columns you’re trying to map - as these are added by users for their particular Excel worksheet. This is because Zapier’s Template creator is not authenticated with an app account and custom fields will vary depending on the user. Your users will always need to add details to custom fields themselves.
