How to Search for a Google Contact when you have a large number of contacts (timing out)

Hi Everyone,

Issue: When creating the action “Find Contact” for the App Google Contacts, it times out because I have 13,000 contacts. Zapier Support says this is a known issue with Google Integration but did not offer a solution.

What I’m Trying to Do: Create a Zap that Creates or Updates a Google Contact when a record is created/updated in my database (Crelate ATS). 

I first want to search to see if the Contact already exists in Google Contacts but I can’t because the Zap times out.

Any suggestions/workaround?

Hi @raehill 

As a workaround, you’d likely have to use the People API for GContacts: https://developers.google.com/people/api/rest

App APIs can be used in Zaps with the Webhooks app as an action step: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/help
